Nine swimmers were officially ratified by the Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation’s (TCISF) Executive Committee to represent the Turks and Caicos Islands at the 38th Carifta Aquatics Championships in Trinidad and Tobago through applying the newly introduced team selection criteria. Turks and Caicos last secured medals in the 2022 and hope to earn more medals in 2025.
The newly selected team is expected to have its first training session at the International School on Monday 10 March from 5:30am.
Team Selection
The top qualifiers were considered and selected in the following order of priority:
Swimmers achieving an “A” Standard in one or more individual events
Swimmers achieving a “B” Standard in one or more individual events
Notable team absences this year are powerhouses Tahjari Williams and Jayden Davis. We will miss them at this years Carifta edition as they focus on preparations on earning a spot on the World Championships team to be held in Singapore this summer.
The Coaches Advisory Committee recommended the team for Ratification by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee accepted the recommendations and thus the 2025 Carifta Aquatics Team are as follows:
